It is “Harada” that local restaurant-goers can’t help loving in search of modern style authentic cuisine with Japanese whiskey, wine, sake, and unusual space consisted of a comfortable atmosphere, jazz, and blues music. Harada offers an innovative combination of modern Japanese ingredients and French methods of cooking. We stick to offering an unusual experience with wonderful dishes paid particular attention to the details, which is differentiated from ordinary bars. We also provide individual customers with generous hospitality. In addition to unique local cuisine "Sydney Terroir", the best liquor; whiskey, wine or sake selected by the owner-chef to marry well with each dish will be served for customers.

 

​Fully licensed venue

The restaurant “Harada” puts importance on “pairing”, which is the right liquor to go along with your dinner. The fine dishes always require to be served with the right wine, sake or whisky to enhance the flavor and vice versa. At Harada, all kinds of Japanese whiskey as represented by Hakusyu, Yamazaki, Hibiki series,

and vintage items are available as well as Japanese wine and sake that brewed in a Japanese traditional way. If, in case, you get lost in face of assorted options, chef, who is knowledgeable about liquor, will give you directions according to dishes you have. Nice music and peaceful atmosphere to appreciate your spirits are always prepared.

At Harada, “Omakase Style” will be the feature dinner offering to the patrons, which means chef’s choice; you can leave decisions of what you have up to the owner-chef. Once you give him artistic freedom, you could enjoy authentic cuisine based on seasonal ingredients (mainly seafood) from local in a Japanese traditional way but at the same time, in creative ways fused with French and Italian techniques. Yoshi, who is the owner-chef at Harada, constantly aims to redefine the genre with his overseas training and inspirations. You can appreciate different foods at different times.

 

YAKITORI dining

It is separate to Omakase dining. You can enjoy Japanese Bar snacks with your favourite drinks you bring in. There are  variety of  Yakitori skewers finely selected by Owner chef.

If you would like to preview Omakase dining at Harada, it is the idea to try Yakitori dining before jump on The Omakase bar.

ABOUT HARADA

Make a reservation

Omakase : $190 pp.

For all reservations we require a valid credit card to secure the booking.

We require 72 hours notice or you will incur a cancellation fee as the below;

48 hours prior = $120pp.
24 hours prior = $160pp.
12 hours prior = $190pp.

We will only accept cancellation request made over SMS to 0481 159 782
at least of 72hours prior of your booking time.

Reservation is only for Omakase Dinner. Booking confirmation must be done 2 days prior to your preferred date. Thank you!

Yoshinobu Harada

Originally from Japan Chef Yoshinobu Harada is a chef with a remarkable background, who had gained experience and inspiration in one of the best master chef: Mr. Miura Hiroshi

Chef Yoshinobu Harada has a passion for cooking and he worked through the different kitchens levels gaining experience in last 13years.
When he was aged 29, he opened first authentic Izakaya in Sydney but he was unable to find many of the ingredients and had to improvise, and it was here that he developed his unique style of cuisine fused creative modern fusion cuisine with Japanese soul food dish

Chef Yoshi’s personal trend is expressed in preparing food in an innovative, fascinating and healthy way by selecting quality products from Japan and Sydney and blending those with local herbs and ingredients focused on "Sydney Terroir".  His remarkable creativity, artistic presentation with fresh sashimi, astonishes every customer.

His recent theme is main dishes matching with liquor, using dehydrate vegetables, meat and seafood so that customers can appreciate a little more concentrated umami delicious. This is what he is challenging.
 

House Policy

The Staff and Management of Harada promote the enjoyment of patrons and our community by enforcing the following House Policy: 

 Management reserves the right to cease the sale of any product at any time.
Management reserves the right to limit alcohol purchase to one drink per person on any occasion.
Food and beverages are not to be taken from the venue or take into our venue.


Persons caught vandalising or causing damage to the venue or surrounding areas will face police prosecution & further action.


Footwear must be worn at all times within the venue.


Any persons found stealing will be barred from the venue and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
Persons found fighting in and around the venue will be barred from the venue. 


Persons who in the opinion of staff and security are found to be harassing other patrons will be asked to leave the venue.


Dress code is applied no thongs no cap


Adult only, Minors are not allowed during dinner service. You may be asked for ID
